Come and join PROJECT (Newspaper) RUNWAY! Professional Costume Designer Jonna Hayden will walk you through 15 minutes of information, inspiration, and the rules for the Runway. Then you'll be divided up into teams, and off you'll go! You'll have an hour and 45 minutes to create a full costume out of newspaper for one of the members of your team. At the end of the time period, we'll have a show of all your creations! Previous Runways have included full Scottish dress with a kilt and bagpipes, a Regency gown with umbrella, a WICKED spoof with shark fins...and several outrageous gowns. All materials provided. No sewing or costume experience needed. Proficiency with tape, staplers and scissors a good thing. Come with a great attitude and willingness to explore! Making Medieval Tunics
A hands-on workshop & demo: How to make a pattern that you can take home, to make a simple T-Tunic for cosplay, SCA, & re-enactments. (Note: You will leave with a finished pattern, and potentially material for utilizing it; not a finished tunic.) 9a-10a: Understanding measurements & making a pattern. 10a-11a: Cutting your fabric. 11a-12p: Interfacing, pinning, sewing, & finishing techniques. Feel free to bring sewing supplies & the fabric of your choice to get started on your own. (We will also have some fabric & scissors on hand, but supplies may be limited; so if you donÆt bring your own, come early :) .)
